“BlackHealthResources.org was born out of a need to bridge the gap in healthcare access for Colorado’s Black community. Founded with the goal of connecting individuals with trusted Black doctors and health professionals, we recognized the importance of culturally competent care. Our journey began with a printed directory and has since evolved into an online resource, making it easier for the Black community to find providers who understand their unique health challenges. We are passionate about improving health outcomes and creating a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.”

“The Colorado Black Health Collaborative (CBHC) is a 501c3, nonprofit organization that has a long history of providing programs that improve the health and wellness in our Black/African American communities through collaborations, partnerships, and teaming arrangements with community-based organizations, other nonprofits, public organizations, private entities, government agencies, and individual community members that help create social connectedness and increase health resources for our marginalized Black/African American community members. Our mission is simply to achieve health equity in Colorado’s Black community through the dismantling of healthcare and access impediments that have served as historical barriers for many in achieving optimal health outcomes, especially for many Black/African American communities.

CBHC was born at the first “Family Reunion” in 2008 when the “family” met and had a frank discussion about the health of the Black/African American community. The theme embodied CBHC’s ongoing quest to seek solutions — to be action-oriented. After that initial event, the community was determined to continue the work of improving the health of the Black/African American community — from cradle to grave. CBHC has been committed to empowering the Black/African American community to advocate for their health needs by providing advocacy, resources, and tools that promote this process.”
